Teacher Sandi
My name is Sandi and I have recently joined the Tree House family. I moved to Taipei a year and a half ago and I have been teaching children here since January 2008. I grew up in London Ontario, Canada, where I attended the University of Western Ontario. I graduated from Western in April 2007. In Canada, I worked as an English tutor at a private exchange school. I also taught basic guitar to children ages 8-10. In addition to teaching, I worked as an editor at the HLRI and as a stage manager at the local theatre in my home town.
During my time in Taiwan I have had the pleasure of teaching many different ages of students, from preschool to adolescent. While teaching older students has its benefits, I have found my passion in teaching young children.
Teaching children is an extremely important job and I feel privileged to be part of a child’s educational and social growth. I think teachers should be facilitators to the active and creative minds of children and although I love to have fun, I take my job very seriously.
I plan to bring my own unique style of teaching to the classroom, including children’s Yoga and music.
I believe that each child is unique and I will do my best to accommodate the individual learning needs of each of your children. I look forward to getting to know you and your children.
