Teacher Connie

At the age of 6, Connie moved to Vancouver, Canada with her family and after graduating from university, she moved back to her beloved hometown of Taiwan. With a communications degree from Simon Fraser University Connie is extremely developed in the field of research, writing and analysis. With 3 years of teaching experience in Taipei, Connie is quick to understand the needs of each student and is able to adapt her teaching style to correspond to the student’s level of development. Connie is patient, humorous, loving, and creative, which makes her classes engaging and effective. During her spare time, Connie loves to practice yoga, cook & bake, advocate for animal rights, watch movies, and travel to places she’s never been to before

Teacher Sandi

My name is Sandi and I have recently joined the Tree House family. I moved to Taipei a year and a half ago and I have been teaching children here since January 2008. I grew up in London Ontario, Canada, where I attended the University of Western Ontario. I graduated from Western in April 2007.
In Canada, I worked as an English tutor at a private exchange school. I also taught basic guitar to children ages 8-10. In addition to teaching, I worked as an editor at the HLRI and as a stage manager at the local theatre in my home town.
During my time in Taiwan I have had the pleasure of teaching many different ages of students, from preschool to adolescent. While teaching older students has its benefits, I have found my passion in teaching young children.
Teaching children is an extremely important job and I feel privileged to be part of a child’s educational and social growth. I think teachers should be facilitators to the active and creative minds of children and although I love to have fun, I take my job very seriously.
I plan to bring my own unique style of teaching to the classroom, including children’s Yoga and music.
I believe that each child is unique and I will do my best to accommodate the individual learning needs of each of your children. I look forward to getting to know you and your children.

Teacher Jason

I am Teacher Jason and I just came from Mount Saint Mary’s College where I majored in Nursing. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California where I learned how to dance, surf, and the local music culture which I plan to share with my new family at Tree House.. I came to Tree House last summer and loved working with the kids so much that I decided I had to come back! I am very happy to see how great these students are and the way the school is run makes me proud that Teacher Paul is my brother!

Mr. B

My name is Brendan. The students call me Mr. B. I’ll be your child’s new teacher. I’m a Canadian and have been teaching in Taiwan for 6 years. My goal is to not only give your student a strong base in English and other subjects, but also to teach them good manners and respect for their friends, teachers and parents. I want your child to enjoy coming to school and make it a positive experience for them. And when they make mistakes I want them to understand what mistake they have made and why it is a mistake. I believe in being as positive as possible when disciplining the children.
I look forward to helping your child develop as a person.

Teacher Alice

I'm Teacher Alice. Here is a little about me. I completed my undergraduate education at the University of California at Irvine. After college, I worked in various different jobs including banking, sales, administration, and teaching at a cram school (bu xi ban). I worked for 4 years before I realized that my favorite job was teaching job. Then, I finally decided to go back to school to obtain my teaching credential. Throughout my 2 years of professional educational training, I did extensive research during field studies of teaching methods, classroom management, etc. I completed all the requirements and received my California Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential in November of 2006. I was teaching at an elementary school (kindergarten and 4th grade) in Los Angeles, California before I moved back to Taiwan. I love teaching and I believe that it will be my lifelong passion.

Teacher Andy

I'm Teacher Andy and I have been living in Taiwan for 4 years now. I lived in Hsinchu before moving to Taipei in August. I am American and come from Charlotte, North Carolina. Before coming to Taiwan I taught trombone to school children and played in several touring bands. I play trombone and like to travel. I have been to 26 countries and 46 of the 50 United States. My experiences with children, performing, and traveling have taught me a lot. I like to share my experiences with my students. I want to show them that seeing and learning about new things can teach them just as much as, if not more than, regular school work. When the students learn a new language, they are learning more about the world outside of where they live.

Teacher Paul

I am Teacher Paul and the founder of Tree House Academy. I moved to California with my mom when I was 9 and I lived with my mother and my stepfather. My stepfather is Caucasian and he taught me many great life values. Growing up was not easy for me because of family difficulties, so I moved from host family to host family. That experience taught me to be aware of how parenting can affect children's success in life. After graduating from UC, Irvine and studying in Cambridge, England, I came back to Taipei. Now, 5 years later, I have a big family at Tree House.

Teacher Angel

I am Angel. I graduated from the University of Fullerton, California in the year of 1999. I have previously worked at another kindergarten for six years. This is my fourth year at Tree House and is a very unique school. I love to work with kids. I guess if you don't like kids, it's hard to work at Tree House because you get tons of kisses and hugs every day. We have close bonds with parents and kids. It's our responsibility to educate our students and teach them life values and discipline. We also encourage them to be independent and creative. Kids have so much fun while they are learning. I am looking forward to the new semester and the fieldtrips.
