Teacher Angel's Belugas

Dear parents:

For math class, I introduced the color yellow. We also went through objects that are yellow like chicks, lemons, the sun, corn, and rubber ducks. Then, we crossed out the objects that were not yellow such as peas.

For social studies, we introduced our family members and things families like to do together such as riding bikes, shopping, cooking……and so on. We also learned a finger play song about family. This song goes like this: This is mama kind and dear, this is Papa standing here…. ……this is sister….brother…..this is baby cute and
small. This is the family one and all.

For motor skills class this week, we did some thing that was fun. Each one of them got a piece of paper with pictures with circles on them such as a picture of a train. They had to cover each circle with one sticker. This exercise isn’t only enhancing their hand to eye
coordination; it also helps them to stay focused.

For Arts and Crafts, we made name pictures. Each kid got a paper with their name stamped on it. Then, they had to glue tiny decorations on the background one by one.

This week we read “Down by the Bay” and “Fe
ast for Ten” for story time.

Individual comments:

Tanya has finally recovered once again with a big smile. She is full of energy now. But, her
appetite isn’t as it used to be.

Henry is more independent than he used to be. He does his work on his own and almost never asks for help. He also likes to help
the other girls when they needed help.

Emelia’s concept of logic is excellent. We made a cross with color blocks. She was able to follow the directions step by step
without getting distracted by the other kids.

Dora was
inpatient while we were making name pictures. She only glued 4 little pieces in 30 minutes. I made her glue more pieces on when the other kids went on break. I will continue working with Dora in this area.

Sherri is so cuddly and happy. She loves to give free hugs and kisses to teachers.

Ellie takes pride in the work that she does. She chooses colors with good combinations and it shows. She has a wild imagination.

Aida and Ellie are both very compatible. They both give their best effort on the task at hand no matter if it’s in coloring or art projects. Aida sometimes has trouble falling asleep during nap time.

Chloe has very good hand to eye coordination skills. She was the first one to finish our sticker picture on Wednesday for motor skills class. She had an amazing week. Nowadays, she never cries in the morning. She always greets me when I say “Hi” or “Good morning” in the morning. Moreover, she is very vocal. She repeats what you tell her all the time. Sometimes she even goes on with her own stories. Finally, she eats much faster than last week (roughly 40 to 50 minutes during lunch). I know there is still room for improvement in the future. I’m so happy that she is adjusting to school so well.
