Dear parents,After twenty minutes of zigzagging on roads on the bus, we finally got to our destination: Fu-Tian Village Garden.
Mr. Ada , our tour guide, was very friendly. He explained why native Taiwanese (aborigines) invented bamboo sticky rice and stone grilled sweet potatoes. Later on, we painted beetle magnets and made leaf printing post cards. We were all exhausted after a busy day. Next time, we should go back for different activities.

For phonics class, I continued with the letter “y” and the related words “Y-y-yarn, yawn, yo-yo, yardstick, yes, and yellow.
For math class, we worked on “top and bottom” and “soft and hard”. These two concepts seem pretty easy for them. It went very smoothly during class time. They loved the other examples that I presented on the w
hite board.
For social studies class this week, I reviewed the four seasons and the cycle of a seed. Then, we moved on to clothing or accessories we wear for different seasons.Individual comments:
Casper told me something the other day. Christine and Jason weren’t being good because they were putting their fingers in their mouths. I was so surprised to hear that. Casper finished all of his bamboo rice; that was the reason why he didn’t have more room for other foods that he had brought.
Jae didn’t like the weather on Tuesday when we went to YangMi Mt. She said that although the activities were fun, it was still too cold.
Leetrue had so much fun painting his beetle on Tuesday. He asked me when we can go back again. I guess he really liked this outing.

Jason had time outs a few times this week. He laughs when you ask him to take a time out. It seems like he thinks that it’s funny to be punished.
Christine misbehaved on the field trip many times. She kept wandering off, didn’t line up, and spoke in Chinese on purpose.
She will lose her play time until Friday.
August was a little fuzzy this week during class time, especially in the morning. I guess maybe the cold weather affects him somehow.
Theresa didn’t like the taste of bamboo sticky rice and whined that it gave her a stomachache. But, she enjoyed making her leaf printing post card for her family!
