Dear Parents:
Tuesday, we had our first outing to the department store. We showed the kids around each floor. The kids got so attracted by the things that were on displayed on the shelves. People stopped and said hi to the kids. On several occasions, our group ended up passing an area last. Our last two stops were the supermarket and the bakery.
For math class, I introduced them to objects with either blue or green. The sky and water are blue; peas, frogs, and trees are green. We also had to put an “x” on the object that was not the same color.

For arts and crafts, we made creepy jelly fish. This was our first success of many projects, because the last craft didn’t turn out very well for everyone. First, they decorated the faces with different circles. Then, they glued of colored strips on its face. Lastly, I glued goofy eyes for them.
I also introduced them to a few new nursery rhymes this week. The first was
“Baa, Baa Black Sheep” and the second one was “Hokey Pokey”. The third one was “Punchinello”. The fourth one was “Engine, Engine Number 9”
Individual comments:
Joyce finally showed some moves during singing time. She ate faster during meals.
Casper now joins us for morning exercise. He sings, dances, and plays games with everyone. He also likes to have more interactions with the other kids during class time.
Rain remembers all the words that begin with “a’s”, but not with “b’
s”. Rain can be easily distracted by others.
Jason has very little patience while he’s doing his work. I asked him to trace a capital A and a small a. He did it very quickly without even dwelling on the strokes. I made him redo his work during play time.
Theresa loves positive reinforcement. I often reward her with stars. She d
oes her work independently without any help. But, sometimes she rushes.
Christine sometimes gets fussy with other kids if they don’t do what she says. Since last week, I talked to her individually during play time. I told her that we have to share at school.
Jae recognizes sounds that begin with “a” and “b”. She is also crafty. She tries her best to show everyone her best work in class.
Leetrue probably felt tired in the evening all this week. He skipped naps many times this week. I would like to see him join us for morning exercise in the mornings.
August is the king of water! He loves to drink water. He’s also very helpful towards his friends, especially to Jason. He could help Jason to put on his shoes before he put on his own; he also helps Jason to wipe the floor when he spills water.
