Welcome to TreeHouse Open House next Friday

Dear parents,

We had a very different Tuesday morning this week. We had nurses that came to school to check our eye vision and our hearing ability. Some of my younger kids were confused with what they were supposed to do. Again, to remind our parents, the kids should have a limited time to watch TV or play video games.

For math class, I introduced them to objects with either the color orange or purple. Fire and gold fish are orange; grapes, egg plants, and purple crayons are purple. We also had to put an “x” on the objects that were not the same color. They also learned how to sort objects with the same color.
For arts and crafts, we made Macaroni Bead Necklaces. First, the kids had to color the macaroni with the color of their desire. Then, we waited for about 30 minutes until they were dry. Then, we strung one piece of macaroni through the yarn, and we repeated the process. Then we tied the ends together. I hope you liked the necklaces they made.

I also introduced them to more new nursery rhymes this week. They are “Jack and Jill”, “Walking, Walking”,” Bluebird”, and “Clap Along with Me”

Individual comments:

Joyce’s listening ability has improved so much compared to a few weeks ago. I encouraged her to speak up and talk more during class time.

Christine has been calmer with her friends. She loves to play with Sunny and Theresa during recess.

Jae
is doing fine this week. She loves the story we read yesterday “Teeny Tiny Woman”.

Casper was a little moody on and off this week. He’s independent while doing his in class work. He’s now learning to use scissors properly.

Rain got into trouble many times this week mainly because he was mean towards his friends. He had a time out in the office for one day.

August gets too emotional quickly with little things. I encouraged him to speak for himself instead of crying. He might be less vocal than the other kids, but I’m sure that his English comprehension is fine. He might pretend not to understand a question, in order to escape from a feeling of guilt.

Jason is gradually learning to follow directions during class time. He gets more involved with moving activities such as Phonics games, songs, and story time. We are also working on how to use scissors properly.
