Outing Next Week~~~

Dear parents,

For reading /social studies, we talked about “different home .” Do you live in a high skyscraper or do you live in a low building? We talked about the rooms in our homes. “What do you do in the bathroom?” “What do you do in the kitchen?”

For story time, we read “Feast for ten.” We talked about the things that we might see in the supermarket, and what foods we eat at home. Also, we went through
“The Bumble Bee.” This is the second time we read this book. This story involved different animals and a kid. They enjoy it very much.

For math class, we introduced objects with either yellow or red. Apples, hearts, and tomatoes are red; bananas, the sun, and baby chicks are yellow.

For arts and crafts, we did a star mobile. First, we painted big stars in red and smaller stars in yellow. We cut stars from construction paper. Then we strung them together with yarn and pieces of straws.

I also introduced them to a few new nursery rhymes this week. The first was
“The Family” and the second one was “Our Pre-K Day”. The third one was “This is the Way I Brush my Teeth”. The fourth one was “Johnny, Woops!!!!”

Individual comments:

Casper is doing better in class. He’s slowly following directions and rules, although he is lost sometimes. He also picked up more words such as more, snack... and so on.

Rain can be a trouble maker like Jason. I noticed that he’s also easily influenced by the other boys. If someone is singing a chant, out of the blue, he’ll join in. I use my stars reward to remind him to stop doing things that are wrong. It works most of the time.

Leeture can easily tell the different colors of objects that we learned this week. He’s willing to share with others during playtime.

Jason likes to be the center of attention. He does things to gain attention from others. He sometimes touches or pushes others on purpose.

August pays attentions most of the time and has good interactions with everyone. He’s easily distracted by others. I purposely moved him away from Jason and Rain.

Theresa’s nose is a little better this week. Sometimes she spaces out during story time, or during activities that don’t have too many movements.

Christine is popular in class. She gets along with the other kids. She enjoys relaxing during play time with everyone at school.

Jae asks me for help, when in fact she is quite capable of doing things on her own. She also asks for small favors. I don’t mind doing things for her. I know that sometimes kids her age want to be treated differently (I mean like her baby sister or younger kids). She knows her color objects well. She is also able to identify each of them.

Joyce was eating faster this week during the meals. She needs lots of love and attention in order for her to open up to a new environment. She’s doing fine.
