July 26

Hi everyone,
It's hard to believe it's almost July, and graduation is only a few weeks away. I'm proud of all the student's growth and achievements over the past year and a half... Anyway, this week we studied numbers 1-100 as well as greater than, less than, and equals to. So far we've finished almost 300 pages in the math book, and with any luck, we'll be able to finish the book by the end of the semester. In reading we read the story " The Story of Blue Bird ", and in phonics class we started learning the phonics sounds for Y ( ya, i, e ) ya ( yellow ), i ( sky ) e ( baby ). In Tops we're learning about celebrations, and finally when we haven't been studying in class, we've been busy preparing for the graduation show on July 15th.

Aston is doing very well. He's been paying attention more, and seems to be more focused. He's also been eating much faster! Great job, Aston!!!

Albert is doing very good. He's making steady improvements in math as well.

Kyle has been working hard this week.

Devon is doing great with the graduation show.

Hank has gotten very fast with his class work. Not only is he a speedy worker, but more importantly he's always correct!

Serena is doing a very good job with the graduation show. We're working on making her more lion like and mean....She's just too sweet and nice.

Bonnie has all her lines remembered for the play. Way to go, Bonnie!

Claire has become a very good student. She's a very good reader and is also very quick in math class.

Eason did very good in phonics class this week.

Phil is getting very good at reading. He's been very confident and eager to add to class discussions as well.

Irene was very focused and helpful all week.

Benson did a great job this week!

Hello

Hello Everyone,
This week was another fun time in the Panda class. In math class we started learning about greater than and less than ( > < ) 10 is greater than 4 or 4 is less than 10. We also reviewed counting to 100 as an added activity. The kids all seem to understand the concepts behind what we have learned, they sometimes forget the number order though. In reading class we reread the story from last week " New Shoes", and started a new story " Blue Bird" about a little bird that learns to fly. In phonics we've been continuing learning about beginning phonic blended sounds. Lastly, all the kids have done very well with the graduation play rehearsal. I'm very proud with the progress everyone has made. I hope though that by the end of next week most of the kids will know all their lines without having to read the script.

Bonnie is a natural actor. She's very good at memorizing her lines, and is also very dramatic and entertaining to watch!

Serena is doing well with the play as well. I think she might be to nice to be a mean lion though.

Aston has been eating a little faster toward the end of this week. I hope he can keep it up and eat just as fast next week.

Kyle has been getting much better with the graduation performance. he used to be very shy and quiet, but recently he's opened up and seems to be much more confident and eager to act.

Devon has been very well behaved in class recently. Great job, Devon!

Albert has been a little naughty this week. He's been talking a lot when he should be quiet during class time.

Hank and Claire we've missed the two of you in class this week. I hope the both of you have a speedy recovery and make it back to Panda class soon.

Irene seems very excited about the camping trip this weekend. She's been talking about it a lot in class.

Phil is doing a fantastic job in class!

Benson has been making a lot of improvements in both his reading and phonics.

Eason has been writing sentences on his own in class. Way to go, Eason! Great job!

June 12

Hi Parents,
I hope everyone is having a nice week. This week in the Panda class we started learning two digit addition in math class ( 12+12+24 ). In reading class we reread the story from last week (A Friend for Little Bear ). On Tuesday we went to Ikea. We've been to many fun places for field trips, but I have never seen the kids as excited as they were at Ikea. They loved running around and trying out the furniture. ( especially the children's section ) And on Tuesday afternoon we made lemonade and had snacks.
Wednesday we started the new story ( Red Shoes ) in reading class, and also worked on phonics and reading comprehension questions in then workbook. In addition to reading, we also worked on Tops by starting a new unit on celebrations ( How old are you? When's your birthday? etc...)
On Thursday morning we practiced handwriting with new phonic words and sentences. In the afternoon we did Tops.
On Friday morning we made bead necklaces in art class, and in the afternoon we learned about putting words into alphabetical order.

Aston has been very well behaved recently. Unfortunately, he's still eating very slowly. He says his stomach hurts, however when he eats food he likes he eats it quickly.

Serena had a lot of fun making necklaces in art class. Serena spent a long time making a pretty pattern, and she was very proud how well it turned out.

Claire has been making a lot of progress with her reading. She's becoming a very good reader!

Bonnie and Albert had a lot of fun at Ikea this past Tuesday. The two of them enjoyed running to each chair and couch and then jump on them and comment on how comfortable they felt.

Hank did very well learning to put words in to alphabetical order. He learned it very quickly!

Devon did very well in math class this week.

Kyle did really great this week. He was very well behaved and eager to learn!

Benson was a little quiet this week. I hope he tries to talk a litlte more next week.

Irene did very good this week.

Phil has really made me proud with how much he's been talking recenlty. He's become very vocal and eager to communicate in class.

Eason has been behaving much better in class recently. His class work has also improved a lot as well. He's really shown tremendous progress!

Hi Everyone,
This week we're fortunate to have an extra day of class tomorrow ( Saturday ). So far this week we've been keeping busy with all our class work. On Monday we began learning about counting in math class with ones and tens. ( 45 is 4 tens = 40, 5 ones = 5 ). In phonics class we're learning about beginning blend sounds ( cl, pl, bl, gl, sw, sp, sk, sl, sn, st ) On Tuesday morning the kids were all given physicals. Luckily everyone was healthy and in great shape. In the afternoon we practiced writing sentences and worked on improving writing more neatly. On Wednesday morning we continued learning about ones and tens in math class. In reading class we started reading the story "A Friend for Little Bear" and followed up with comprehension questions based on the reading. On Thursday we did more phonics work. And finally on Friday we made aluminum foil crown hats and watches in art class, and in the afternoon we did work in the Tops book. ( Does he/she have a ______? Yes, he/she does. No, he/she doesn't.

Aston has been eating very very very slow this week. He says he doesn't feel well. I hope he feels better soon.

Devon has been very good this week. He was very happy to show everyone his two books for show and tell on Friday.

Albert has been doing very well in reading and phonics, but he's been having trouble with math class. He's still struggling to understand the concepts behind ones and tens.

Hank is doing great! He's had a very productive week this week.

Kyle has also been doing very well. He's made great progress in reading recently.

Bonnie had fun making aluminum foil crowns in art class on Friday.

Serena seems eager to rehearse for this years graduation play. She's asked me a few times on Friday when we will begin practicing for it.

Claire did very well this week. She's doing especially good in phonics!

Irene was a delight to teach this week. She was very well behaved and helpful in class.

Phil has been very attentive and eagert to learn these past few weeks!

Benson has been talking much more in class.

Eason has a very large English vocabulary. He's always surprising me with the words he knows.
