March 20th

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
The luck of the Irish were with us this week. On Monday afternoon we made leprechaun hats and paper leprechauns for art class. In the morning we finished reviewing shapes for math class.
On Tuesday we were fortunate for good weather as we went to Daan park to search for gold! The rolling hills of Daan were littered with leprechaun gold, and the kids were all lucky enough to take some home.
On Wednesday we started learning ( actually reviewing ) time. We studied time quite a bit last year, so all the kids did very well. In the afternoon we did ESL and read a funny story about a daddy bear who couldn't sleep, so everywhere he goes to find peace and quiet he's followed by the constant sounds of the night like a loud refrigerator, a clock, his loud son, his snoring wife, and several noisy birds.
On Thursday we spent the beginning of the morning catching up on some back work, and than later in the day we studied time again in math class. In the afternoon we did Tops and studied prepositions ( The cat is on the hat. The toy is under the table. The pencil is in the cup. )
On Friday morning we watched The Lion King with the Armadillo class in preparation for this years graduation show, and finally on Friday afternoon we did reading and work in the reading workbook.

Aston has been very well behaved this week. My guess is that it's because he has a "new girlfriend" ( according to Serena...hint..hint..hint... ) He's been very quiet and nervous around her all week.

Albert has been doing very well in class, but he's been a little naughty during nap time. He's been talking and playing with the other kids during nap time.

Kyle and Hank have been playing a lot recently. I think Kyle is very happy to have someone new to play with during the day. The two of them are starting to become very good friends.

Devon had fun on Tuesday at Daan Park. He seemed to really really enjoy looking for the gold coins.

Bonnie is doing good in class. She's slowly improving her reading skills, and is also doing much better in math class. Way to go, Bonnie!

Serena did very good this week. She's been very well behaved, and also eager to help out during the day.

Irene and Benson have made tremendous progress recently! Benson has especially tried harder to speak more, and he's also been volunteering more to read and answer questions. It's great to see the progress the two of them have made.

Phil hasn't brought back his reading homework in 5 weeks. I really hope he can bring both his reading book and writing book into class on Monday.

Eason did well this week. He's been very eager to read and answer questions during class.
