Our Final Penguin Post
Dear Parents,
The past semester has been great, but it's sad to say that this is my last post for Penguin class. Everyone did a great job this semester and I'm especially proud of the excellent job they did last week for the graduation show. They all practiced very hard and their effort definitely paid off! I hope everyone enjoyed themselves.
I've enjoyed teaching all the kids this semester and wish everyone a happy and safe summer!

July 10th
WOW! We have one week to go until next Friday's graduation show ( where did the time go? ) , and I'm happy to say everyone is doing an excellent job. I sent home a cd with lyrics and music for the two songs we'll be singing ( Eight Piggies in a Row and The More We Get Together ) on Wednesday...I hope the kids will be able to practice at home. I also hope that all the kids can come to school before 10 am next week so they can all rehearse for our performance.
Devon had a nice birthday party on Wednesday. He was funny all day. Almost every five minutes he would say " Teacher Scott, it's my birthday today...Teacher Scott, it's my birthday today...etc..."
Kyle and Emily are doing well with their lines for the play. I just hope the two of them won't be too nervous.
Leo, Bonnie and Claire need to be a little louder when they speak. Bonnie is usually very loud and clear when we practice in class but at Tuesday's rehearsal she was so quiet and shy. Leo seems very shy and Claire has been speaking very softly.
Ethan, Serena, Ruby and Aston should make good wolves. Serena and Ruby are doing great. The two of them know their lines and speak loud and clearly. Ethan has a lot of energy...maybe a little too much and Aston seems a little shy when he speaks.
Albert is doing great! He learned his lines quickly and should make a good announcer.

This week
Everyone has been doing really well in class.
We missed Albert when he was gone, but since he's been back he's made tremendous progress learning his lines for the play. I'm really proud of how well he's doing!
Ruby has done a great job with her reading and writing this week.
Kyle, Leo and Emily have been playing "ghost" at playtime this week. The three of them love playing together.
Claire, Bonnie and Serena loved looking at the pets at the pet store. Especially the kittens.
Aston has been paying attention more in class. He seems more focused and able to work much better on his own.
Devon is really excited about Albert coming back to school. He always tries to sit next to Albert and especially loves playing with him at playtime.
Ethan has been doing really well recently! He's been much more social and especially loves playing with Kyle and Leo. In addition his behavior has improved and he seems to be able to focus more in class.

Pet Store
We've had a busy week this week. Between our graduation practice and the filed trip to the pet store we haven't had much free time. This year we'll be doing "The Three Little Pigs". On Friday I'll send home the script for each child so they can practice.
In class this week we've been doing more counting practice, as well as basic addition. In phonics we have been doing more writing practice and review of beginning and ending phonic sounds.
All the kids have done really well this week....Please check back on Friday for photos...
Take care,
Scott
