June 19th

It's been a quiet week this week. Because a lot of students have been absent we' ve spent most of the time reviewing math and abc's. ( counting and abc order ). We've also talked about neighborhoods in social studies and on Tuesday we made spiders in art class.

Ruby did very well this week. She's done excellent with writing her abc's and also made a beautiful spider in art class.
Devon did good as well this week. He's made great progress recently!
Aston was a little lazy with his classwork earlier in the week, but started to focus more tword the middle of the week. He did a great job on Thursday!
Ethan has been really silly in class recently. He's been making all the kids laugh and has become the 'class clown' of Penguin class.
Kyle has been great this week. I think the extra work we've been doing has really helped.
We missed Bonnie ( especially Ruby ) earlier in the week, but it was nice to see her later in the week. She's been making steady progress and has done an excellent job with her writing. Ruby has also told me she wants to marry Brian from the Dragon class....( it's a secret )
Emily had a lot of fun on Monday when we did a class puzzle. She was really fast at helping the kids find the right pieces to use.
Leo was happy to get back to school so he could play with Kyle, Emily and Ethan. Playtime isn't the same without him.
Claire has been really well behaved in class this week!
I hope Serena and Albert are having a nice week.We miss the both of you and look forward to seeing you two next week!

June 12th

Hi Parents!
Well, we've had another busy week at Tree House. In math class we've continued studying shapes ( circle, square, rectangle, triangle, cylandar, sphere, etc...) In phonics we've been reviewing beginning, middle and ending phonic sounds. In social studies we've been talking about friends and friendship. And in art class we made colored leaves.

On Tuesday we went to the Fire Safety Museum to learn about what to do in the even of a fire or earthquake.....

Everyone listened intently as we were told about what to do if there is a fire.

Aston and Claire were first in line to walk through the "smoke room". It was pretty scary, but they did really well. They were very brave!

Emily was able to practice being a fire fighter.

Leo and Aston were fearless ! They would both make great fire fighters.

Kyle, Devon, Albert, Ruby and Claire liked looking at the fire bike.

Ruby and Leo were excited about going to the fire museum.

Serena and Ethan were happy to be partners....

Happy Thursday!
After a rainy start of the week, the sun has finally come out and it looks like we might finally have a nice day or two. ( I hope )
In math class we started learning about shapes; circles, squares, triangles and rectangles. In phonics class we've been practicing writing simple sentences using -at words ( cat, hat, rat, sat, mat ) ie: The cat sat on the mat with the rat. In art class we continued on the shape theme and made a square man. In social studies we have been talking about families and what people do for their job.
We have a field trip on Friday to watch dragon boat races so I'll be sure to post photos later in the day....
