April 25th

Hi Parents,
I just want to remind everyone that on Tuesday the 29th we will be going on a field trip to Morinaga Candy Factory. We'll also have a vacation day on Thursday, May 1st...so it should be a short week.
Anyway...This week we started doing E/e in Phonics class. In Math class we began talking about time of day, which will lead up to telling time in the next couple of weeks. All in all it was a pretty busy week.

Devon, Aston and Albert were inseparable this week. The three of them love riding the cars at playtime. From the moment playtime starts until the final second before we pick up, the three of them ride around and have a lot of fun.

Leo continues to do well in class, he's been a big help as well.

Bonnie and Ruby had fun in art class this week. I can't say what we made just yet, but I'm sure all the moms will be very happy...

Kyle has really enjoyed reading books during reading time. He's been making steady progress!

It's nice to see Ethan back. I hope he's feeling better.

Claire has been doing really well. She always has something to add to class discussions, it's nice to see her try hard during class time.

And finally...Serena and Emily had a great time at the park this week.

April 18th

This week we started learning about Oo in phonics class. Some Oo words are:octopus, October, otter and OUCH! In math class we reviewed months of the year. I thinkthe kids are really doing well with this....We also discussed "neighborhoods" in social studies, and the various things found in "our neighborhoods"; ie: pet store, supermarket, train station, department store, etc...

We also spent a lot of time this week reviewing counting. Most of the kids are doing well, but I think they could all use some extra help...So if you can, please count with your kids from time to time at home, hopefully, if we're both reviewing they will improve much faster...

Devon has made tremendous progress recently, he's been very helpful in class, eaten lunch much faster and he's trying harder during class time.

Aston was very naughty on Thursday. He usually sleeps in the big room besides the office but on Thursday he promised he'd be good if he could sleep in the classroom, so I let him sleep there, but when I came back from lunch he was in the office because he was playing with Claire.

Albert was very good this week; we started playing a new phonics game that he really enjoyed playing.

I'm glad Ruby is feeling better.

Bonnie and Emily did really well in math class. They are both making good progress with their counting!

Kyle is doing great as well. He continuse to make great improvements and is always well behaved and in a good mood!

Serena had a fun time at the park this week. She loves playing with the other girls.

Ethan has been behaving really well recently.

And finally Leo and Claire have missed some work recently. I hope the two of them can come to school a little earlier so they won't miss anything we do in the morning.

April 11th

This week has gone by fast! We had a fun outting to the bakery on Monday; followed by a few days of learning and finally, a trip to the park on Friday. In math class we learned about the months

( January, February, etc..) In phonics we studied Uu, some U words we learned were: umpire, up, under, and umbrella. In social studies we learned about prepositions: in, on, and under. And lastly in science class we talked about baby lions.

Kyle and Leo have been playing together a lot this week. It's nice to see the two of them enjoy playtime so much.

Ethan has been paying attention a lot more in class. He did especially well in phonics class this week!

Albert did really well this week in Phonics class, his handwriting has been improving nicely.

Aston had a fun time on our field trip to the bakery, he especially liked the snack he got afterwards.

Devon loved going to the park.

Serena, Bonnie and Claire also had fun at the bakery.

Emily and Ruby have been a huge help in class. They are always well behaved and they always are eager to help out during classtime.

April 3rd

Just a reminder that on Friday, April 4th we won't have school. Hopefully we'll have a nice, warm, sunny day...
Anyway, this week we studied I/i in phonics class. In math we learned about the days of the week, and in science we talked more about the weather.

Devon has been doing well this week...he loves to listen to the story " The Hungry Caterpillar" in class, he can't get enough. Every time I ask the kids what story they want to hear he's always requesting it...

I hope Ruby has a nice time in Kenting. Hopefully the weather will be better than Taipei.

Claire and Leo had fun making ( and more importantly eating ) ice cream sundaes in cooking class.

Bonnie has been sick all week, I hope you feel better Bonnie. We miss you!

Aston has been getting lazy in class. He says he doesn't know his ABC's, and on Wednesday we were making 3 color patterns( ie: red-blue-green-red-blue, etc..) in class and he couldn't understand how to do it...I think he's really smart, he just doesn't apply himself sometimes. I'd like to see him try harder in class....

Albert has been a little naughty this week. Albert, Devon and Aston have been getting into trouble during class time, mostly for talking and not paying attention. His writing skills have been improving nicely though...I'm really proud of the progress he's made.

Ethan has been doing well in class. He hasn't been drinking his water though...

Kyle, Serena, and Emily were all very good this week.
