March 28th

Hi Parents-
Well, it's another rainy Friday ...
On Tuesday I was sick. Luckily Teacher Angel was able to fill in, I'm told the kids were all well behaved.
This week we started learning vowels in phonics class, specifically Aa
( apple, ant, alligator, airplane ) the kids did really well with writing A. In science class we learned about weather. In math we reviewed previous work we've done ie: height, weight, length, etc... and finally on Friday we made it to the park just before it rained.

I'm happy to report that Albert, Serena, Bonnie, Emily, and Claire are all doing great!

Leo has been doing his class work quickly but he's been a little lazy when we draw or color. I've been trying to get him to spend a little more time on his drawings and try using more than one color. He's pretty stubborn though.

Devon and Aston have been eating really slow this week...REALLY SLOW

Kyle has been teaching me Kung Fu. He's also a very graceful dancer!

Ruby continues to do well. I'd like to see her push her self a little harder though. I think she has a lot of potential.

Ethan made a new friend this week. He's been playing with Jae ( from the Tiger class )
They've been inseparable during playtime.

Easter

Happy Easter! We've had a busy week of holidays this past week. On Monday we celebrated St. Patrick's Day by searching for "gold" at the park and on Friday we celebrated Easter. For Easter we also went to the park, but this time we looked for candy hidden by the Easter Bunny and in the afternoon we learned how to decorate Easter eggs. In between holidays we studied weight in math class and XYZ in phonics class.

Welcome back Kyle! I hope you're feeling better. We missed you when you were gone.

We also missed Bonnie and Derrick on Friday for the Easter egg hunt. Don't worry though, we have candy waiting for you at school on Monday.

Ethan's been very good this week. He's been a little sad in the mornings and at lunch time 

( when he didn't like the food ) though.

Leo has been a big help in class. He's been giving me a hand with collecting books and handing out the pencils this week. I really appreciate the extra help!

Aston has been struggling in phonics class. We've been reviewing XYZ and he's been really slow doing his work in class. However, once it's playtime and the kids get to play, he rushes to finish. 

Ruby has been very good this week. She's always happy and well behaved, so I don't really have much to say about her this week. She was great!

Claire and Serena did a great job on their Easter eggs, they we're very beautiful!

Devon had a fun time looking for Easter eggs on Friday. He was so happy when found one he couldn't wait to see all the candy inside.

And finally..Emily and Albert have been very close this week. The two of them insisted on sitting next to each other at lunch time, and they couldn't wait to go to the park to play together.

Happy St. Patrick's Day !

Monday, March 17th is the "official" St. Patrick's Day, but that didn't stop us from having a fun week gettting ready. We made paper leprechauns and some really tall, green hats in art class. In math class we started learning about weight, comparing heavy and light objects. In phonics class we reviewed X/Y/Z . And luckily we had a nice, warm day on Monday and went to the park for a little exercise.

Aston really enjoyed making hats in art class. His leprechaun was really nice as well.

Devon was wearing a great St. Patrick's Day outfit on Friday. I especially enjoyed the cape on his costume.

Bonnie and Serena looked really cool for show and tell in their sunglasses!

Ruby was funny this week, we tried to play a game where you have to keep a straight face and not laugh, however , everytime we played she would laugh right away...

Emily has been doing well in class. She's always well behaved but she has a tendency to tattle tale on the other students. I've tried to talk to her about this and hopefully she'll be able to stop this. I worry that if she is always telling on the other students they may not want to play with her.

Ethan has done great with his school work this week, but he's been really slow drinking his water. I hope he can drink faster and finish all his water next week.

Derrick has been MUCH better this week. He was really good! I'm happy to see how much he's improved.

Kyle has made a lot of improvements this week as well. He doesn't get sad as easily as before and has tried hard to behave himself.

Leo is good at drawing but I wish he would put a little more time and effort into his work. I think his work would be much better if he tried a little bit harder.

Albert made a really nice leprechaun in art class. Albert is getting better at cutting!

I wanted to play cards ( old maid ) with Claire on Friday but she didn't want to play with me ...I was a little sad.

Friday March

Hi Parents!

We had another fun, busy week . We studied Zz in Phonics, measuring in Math class, winter in Science class AND we went to the post office!

Aston did so well last week eating snack and lunch quickly, unfortunatly, he's been really slow again this week.

Devon has been doing well writing Zz in Phonics class. He really picked it up quickly and was able to write it neatly and correctly. Good job Devon!

Albert is making progress with his writing. He still struggles a little bit, but he tries hard. He's also been really well behaved this week!

Kyle is always so happy in class. He and Derrick got into a little fight earlier in the week but have since made up and now they are getting along much better.

Derrick does a wonderful job in class and always listens to the teacher and follows directions. Unfortunatly, he continues to to misbehave during naptime and playtime.

Ethan has been doing really well. I'm impressed with how talented he is at drawing. He did a drawing earlier in the week of a motorcycle that was fantastic!

Leo did very well writing Zz in Phonics class and emjoyed talking about winter in science class.

Bonnie had a fun time earlier in the week when we went to the park. In class she's been doing really well and continues to improve her reading and writing.

Emily has been very talkative ( in a good way ) and is always happy to share her thoughts and opinions, she also had a lot to talk about in science class.

Ruby's been doing well. Her behavior, work ethic and eating have all been exceptional. Keep up the good work Ruby!

Claire's been doing well in class but she's been really slow at snack and lunch time. I hope she can eat faster next week. I'm also happy to see her coming to class earlier, she's ben able to catch up on the work she missed last week and has doing a great job overall this week.

Serena was good as usual this week! Her writing, math, science and social studies have all been great.
