Happy Friday!

Hi Parents!

We had a great week! We saw 'Rudolph, the red nose reindeer' on Monday. They are still singing their Christmas songs.

We finished the letter 'Nn' this week. The new vocabulary words were - net, needle, nest, nine, nose, night, nail, nurse and necklace. And we can write number 1 to 10. We also made a move-able Spongebob Squarepants in Art class. Most of them can cut very nice and finish their Art projects by themselves, just a few need a little help.
Claire has been sick all week, 'We hope you feel better!'
Leo has started feeling sick during these past two days, 'Feel better soon!'
Have a great weekend! Monthy evaluations should be in their school bags...

Merry Christmas!

Hi Parents!

I hope everyone enjoyed the Christmas show as much as I did... The Penguins practiced and tried their very best last Friday! I am very proud of all of them!!! They were dressed as Christmas Trees, not vegetables. It was great to see how much they've grown and matured throughout the semester.
Merry Christmas and have a happy new year!

11 Little Christmas Trees

Hi Parents!

We did lots of Christmas related theme activities this week! We did a few art projects and sang Christmas songs. We've been practicing singing 'Jingle Bells' and 'Three Little Christmas Trees.' I am so proud of all of them! They wrote their 'Letters to Santa' all by themselves.

In Phonics, we practiced writing the letter 'Nn.' So far, we've completed half of our Phonics Book. They've showed a lot of improvements with their fine motor skills!

We were practicing how to write the number 6, 7 and 8. They enjoy doing work in their Math books because they think it's 'NOT TOO EASY.' I am glad to see that they are able to try more challenging things.

Three Little Christmas Trees
Three Little Christmas Trees,
Standing all alone,
Their hearts were very sad,
cuz they hadn't found a home,
chop! went the axe and down fell a tree,
and off it went, to a happy family.

Two Little Christmas Trees,
Standing all alone,
Their Hearts were very sad,
cuz they hadn't found a home,
chop! went the axe and down fell a tree,
and off it went, to a happy family.

One Little Christmas Tree,
Standing all alone,
His heart was very sad,
cuz he hadn't found a home,
chop! went the axe and down fell a tree,
and off it went, to a family.

No Little Christmas Trees,
Standing all alone,
Their hearts were very happy,
cuz they all found a home.

Have a great weekend,

Fun at the zoo!

Hi Parents!

We had such a fun week! We finally got to go to the zoo on Tuesday. It was so much fun. We saw penguins, reptiles and snakes, elephants, zebras, camels, pumas, raccoons and storks. It was fun, but tiring. We walked around for hours with no breaks, except our lunch break. I was so happy to see everyone's lunch - extremely healthy, with little or no junk food!!!

We finished the letter 'Dd.' The new vocabulary words we learned were - dog, desk, doll, duck, door, deer, dime (American money) and dinosaur.

We are going counting-crazy in Math. We counted 6, 7 and 8. We counted and circled groups of 6, 7 and 8. We worked on 3 color and item sequences, most of them did great.

We are reading 'I like to hop.' In the story, it emphasizes the phonograms -op and -ot. We also reviewed -an, -ap, -at, -ig and -it. They are getting better at sounding words out.

Science is a lot of fun for them. We are learning about insects. So far, we've learned that some insects cam fly and some can't. The ones that can fly are - butterfly, bee, dragonfly and fly. The insects that cannot fly are - lady bug, beetle and tarantula (big spider).

Have a great weekend,
