Monthy Reports and calendars!

Here are the teddy bears everyone drew on the whiteboard. I showed them once, and they did it themselves!!!

Hi Parents!!!

Unfortunately it rained us out from Taipei zoo on Tuesday, but we are on for next Tuesday. Let's hope the weather is as beautiful as it is today! By the way, monthly progress reports and calendars are in their schoolbags!

In Math class, we are writing and counting 1 to 5. We also learned how to write and count backwards from 5 to 1, most of them can count backwards from 10 to 1.

Phonics was so fun!!! We are on the letter "Dd." We identified the letters, practiced writing the words and learned a few new vocabulary words. The new vocabulary words for this week are - desk, doll, duck, door and dog.

We are reading a new story, 'I like to hop.' It has a few familiar vocabulary words. There are also a few new ones.

Science is always fun!!! They know the life cycle of a plant... seed, seedling, plant, flower and then a fruit. We also learned that plants were living things, they require water and sunlight!

Have a great weekend,
Teacher Leanne

Don't forget to pack a nutritious lunch for your kids on Tuesday!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Parents!!!

We've been very busy doing lots of work. We are learning the letter "Ll." It is very easy for them to write, they have so much fun writing the letter "Ll." We also learned many new vocabulary words - lamb, ladder, lion, lizard, leaf, log, lock, leg and lips.

In math, we are writing and graphing numbers from 5 to 0. It was a little challenge for them, but after the second try, it was cake for them!
In PE we learned how to play soccer. Most importantly, the rules; no touching the ball with hands, can use legs to kick and the head! And, of course they would need to kick the ball into the goal to score!

We also made Indian Headdresses for Thanksgiving. We had our Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday afternoon, they loved the turkey. deviled eggs, salad, mashed potatoes and cake! We also had a birthday party for Crystal on Thursday, Happy Birthday Crystal!!!

We learned a new rhyme this week; One, two three, four, five
One, two, three, four, five,
Once I caught a fish alive;
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
Then I let it go again.
Why did you let it go?
Because it bit my finger so.
Which finger did it bite?
This little finger on the right.

Have an amazing weekend,
Teacher Leanne

Happy Happy Friday!!!

Hi Parents!

Happy Birthday to our dearest Aston! It was his birthday on Monday. It will also be Claire's birthday on the 18th and Crystal's on the 22nd!!!

This week was an awesome week. The weather was perfect, we were able to have PE at the Park, twice this week! Our letter of the week was 'Gg.' The new vocabulary words were: gum, goat, goose, girl, gate, In Math class, we are learning how to write the number 4 and 5. We also reviwed writing numbers 1-3. I also read a few stories to them - 'Angelica and Cynthia' - from Rugrats Cartoons, 'the very hungry caterpillar,' and 'powerpuff girls and chicken pox.'

Rochelle had a good week this week, except morning time when she was feeling the morning blues. She completes her work quickly and efficiently. She knows all the new vocabulary words and she is the first to raise her hand to volunteer.

Crystal is so happy and energetic! She knows all of her 'Gg' vocabulary words and more. Her penmanship is improving a lot. She writes very nice, letters and numbers. She is always being such a big sister to all the girls in her class!!!

Aston is good this week! He remembers to be good. Though he doesn't sleep, he doesn't PLAY! He is coloring with more than 1 color! He is still a little absent-minded, but he is trying!!! Keep up the good work!

Emily had a great week! She is adjusting well in the class. She is still a little shy, but she does have friends in class. She enjoys to play with Big Ethan, Crystal, Ruby, Rochelle and Claire. She remembers all of her new vocabulary words!

Ruby had a good week! Her penmanship is improving. She is also having an easier time remember new vocabulary words. She is doing an amazing job in class!!!

Claire had a good week, like usual. She has been extremely cheerful and friendly lately, she even tells Teacher Paul that she likes him! She knows all of her new vocabulary words. Her penmanship is improving so much, she writes nice letters and numbers.

Serena is having too much fun... she is so happy all the time! She is a fast learner, she knows all of her new vocabulary words and more. I'm glad to see her so full of spirit at school!

Hanna had a nice week, even though she got caught talking during nap 3 times!!! She is learning so fast, being so helpful to others. She is amazingly talkative all the time. There isn't a vocabulary word she doesn't know!!!

Ethan had a good week! He is always making new friends, Mimi and Emily. He really enjoys to play with smaller kids. Emily is in our class, she is Ethan's buddy, she reminds him to be good and follow the rules. They like to hold hands and run around!!! I'm happy to see him so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Devon had a hard time following rules this week. His listening skills has improved a lot, but he still has problems following the rules at times.
Leo has a hard time pronouncing the sound 'Gg.' I will talk to Teacher Alice and have Teacher Alice help him as well. I am also practicing the sound 'Cc' and 'Kk' with him. Leo has made a lot of effort, he tries harder. But, he still complains and tries to delegate.
Have a great weekend,

PTA was great! Thanks!!!

Hi Parents!!!

Thank you very much for finding time to come to school to talk about your child's progress; it makes me feel very rewarding to be their Teacher!

Good News!!! We have a new friend in Penguin class; her name is Emily. Emily is 4 years old, she is also Albert's friend! Welcome to Penguin Class Emily! She is adjusting well in Penguin class, she is sometimes a little shy!

We had a very busy week this week... We are reading 'Big Monkey, Little Monkey' for reading class. Most of the class can follow the story with their fingers. We have been practicing a lot of phonograms; we just learned -ig this week and we also reviewing the last group( -an, -at, -ap). In Phonics, we are learning the letter 'Gg.' We learn how to identify the letter 'Gg,' learn how to write the letter, learn new vocabulary words and review them! In Math, we are learning how to write numbers; 1, 2 and 3. Writing the numbers were easier than writing the letter 'Gg,' hehehehe.

We are learning about Thanksgiving this week; just a few new vocabulary words for that theme. We are learning about Indians/Native Americans and made a teepee as a craft!

We also learned a new rhyme... 'Pat-a-cake' (feel free to sing it w/your kids!!)
Pat-a-cake, Pat-a-cake, Baker's Man
Bake me a cake as fast as you can,
Pat it, Prick it, Mark it w/a (first initial of child's name),
Put it in the oven for child's name and me.

Have a great weekend,

Happy Friday!

Hi Parents!

We had such a fun and productive week! Halloween Mad-ness is finally over! They had such a fun time during our Halloween celebration at TreeHouse. We had a birthday party for Rochelle on Wednesday! We are practing writing the letter 'Ff.' Everyone was saying that they could do it, that it looked so easy; it wasn't as easy as they thought it would be. It was actually pretty challening for most of them. We also did a cumulative math test on pattern. I am happy to say that most of them did an amazing job and put in lots of effort. We also did a flower craft. They cut out parts of a flower/plant - flower, stem and leaf. Most of them were able to identify the parts and glue them onto a piece of construction paper...

Have a great weekend, Teacher Leanne

Monthly progress reports are in their school bag!
