Dear Parents,

This week was a short one here at tree house. Friday is Labor Day so get out there and do something fun. We covered some reading lessons and they are all getting so good at phonetically sounding out the words and figuring out what it is they are reading. For Phonics class a couple of pages out of the workbook were done and we are covering the vowel sounds now which completes the whole alphabet. We are covering time in math class and they are all finally starting to understand the concept. We did a number of activities to reinforce the material and they can all figure out how to read the times of the clock at the top of the hour.

Individual comments:

Ethan: His reading is getting so good. I tested him with some simple sentences from another material and he did very well.

Adam: He has been focusing less this week and I had to remind him to get back on track.

Patrick: His reading is coming along very well and I can see that he's really starting to enjoy it.

Terry: I hope you start to feel better. Good idea on the mask to keep him from talking too much... it's definitely been quieter.

Rain: He hasn't been as much of a disruption this week due to his friend's inability to talk.

Joyce: She's speaking out A LOT and her reading is really really good. I am happy to see her doing so well.

Paige: Great consistent behavior from her this week. I have been working closely with her on her reading and I can see that she's starting to figure it out.

Erin: I hope she starts to feel better soon. She's speaking out more and I can see that she's understanding more as well.

Emily: Great job in reading class and she's always one of the first to want to volunteer.

Theresa: She's been a little bit too touchy feely with some of the other students in the class and I have had to remind her that some people feel uncomfortable about that.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and I'll see all of you on Monday.

Dear Parents,

This week we covered a math lesson. It is time this week and the students are still a bit confused about this subject. They are a little bit young to understand the concept of what time means. We will be continuing to work on this for some time. All of the students are making great progress in reading class and I am happy with how well they are doing in this subject. Keep up the good work. For arts and crafts we made some tulips out of the shape of their hands. It was very fun and I believe they had a great time doing it.

Individual Comments:

Patrick: Great job in reading class. He's trying to really work on his skills in this area.

Ethan: Like I said this week, he's really doing well in reading. Keep up the good work.

Adam: Very consistent this week. He did a good job on his flower as well.

Terry: His reading is improving but he still needs to stop talking when I say stop!

Rain: Rain is in the same boat as Terry, come on boys... you know what you need to do.

Joyce: She's talking A LOT now that her sister is here, just as I predicted. She's helping out her sister as well.

Emily: Like I said... let's work on the spilling of the water thing. Great job in reading though!

Paige: I can see that she's slowly starting to improve her Reading and there's going to come a time where it just clicks.

Erin: She's talking more and I think she's starting to get the routine of the class.

Theresa: She was a bit emotional on Friday and wasn't willing to do very much.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. It should be a beautiful one so get out there and do something fun.

Dear Parents,

This week was a fun one for the kids in the Wolf Pack. We had two days of Easter fun! On Monday we went to the library, told Easter stories then read some more stories from popular books. In the afternoon we had an Easter egg hunt and they all sported their bunny ear hats they made earlier. On Tuesday we then colored Easter eggs and I have to say that all of the students in the class are quite the little artists. Great job on your creations this week!

In class we covered some of our Phonics workbook pages. We are starting to cover vowels and I have high hopes that they will succeed with these lessons. In reading we all did individual reading and I worked closely with all of the students on helping them sound through the words on the page. I have to say they are all coming along and I have confidence they will all start to see their efforts paying off. We did a couple of P.E. classes this week and I think they all really like this class and are able to cut loose and get out all of that energy they have cooped up inside.

Individual comments:

Terry: Stop talking, stop talking, stop talking. I need for him to listen when it's time to listen.

Rain: He and his buddy need to understand when I say it's time to get to work I mean it.

Ethan: Great job this week, he's really trying his hardest to improve his reading and I can see those improvements daily.

Adam: He as well is trying his best in reading class and I am happy to report only great things from him.

Patrick: Great job in reading class this week, I think he really gets it and I have full confidence for more of this in the future.

Joyce: Now that her sister is here at school, my prediction was correct... she's talking more and helping out a lot... great job Joyce.

Emily: She was very consistent this week, great job in reading class this week as well. Thank you for the card by the way... it's very cute!

Theresa: It's like we talked about in our meeting... I'm happy she's willing to talk now let's just get it to where she's speaking more fluently.

Erin: She's speaking out and trying to get all of the work done, great job so far. I have confidence you will start to see improvements.

Paige: Very consistent participation this week. Her reading still has a ways to go but i can see that she's trying her best. Keep it up!

I hope everyone has a great weekend... let's hope it stays dry!

Dear Parents,

Thank you all for attending the parent meetings. It was great to connect with all of you and bring you up to date on the progress of your children. It is my hope that parents and teachers stay on the same page with how the children are progressing. It is invaluable to the development of your young learners, so I thank you all.

This week was steady as she goes with the students in the wolf pack. We covered a few pages of material out of all of our text books. We will be starting time in Math class very soon so if you could start showing your children a digital clock earlier it will help us all out in the future. In phonics we covered the letter Zz. In reading class we started a new book and it is a bit harder than the earlier books so they need to make sure they are focused and ready to learn. Like I said in the meeting, in Social Studies class we are studying recycling.

I hope all of you have a great weekend and I will see all of you next Monday. Please be on the lookout for your individual comments next week.

Dear Parents,

This week we did estimating in Math class, the had to guess how many blocks would equal different lengths of things. They also had to guess how many blocks could be filled in different containers. We did the letter Zz in phonics class and did some writing exercises for practice. In Social Studies class we started a lesson on the importance of recycling and keeping our Earth clean. I hope we can also start an in-class recycling project where the kids can learn how to recycle correctly. We are reading a new story this week in Reading class and all of the students are doing a fine job at not just memorizing the pages but really trying to sound out each of the words and forming good sentences.

Because Monthly Reports went out this week I will be continuing individual comments the following week so please stay posted for those. Thank you all and have a great weekend and remember, parent teacher meetings next week so I'll be seeing you soon.
