Dear Parents,

This week was a busy one for the kids in the Wolf Pack. We covered a lot of material in Science, Phonics, Math, Social Studies and Reading. It's all about weather this week in Social Studies so I thought to combine an art project that was centered around that theme as well. We are doing counting to 30 plus the calendar in Math class. Phonics this week is the letter "Qq" and we have gotten a great start on Reading.

Next week is the field trip to the Children's Art Museum. I have been there a couple of times and I have a feeling that the kids will really enjoy themselves. By the way, be sure to pack a healthy lunch on Tuesday to bring with you. Next week we will be continuing our reading skills so keep up the good work and focus!

Individual Comments:

Ethan: He's trying his best at reading but I can see it in his eyes that he's not quite picking it up yet. I have been patient and understanding about it because I know he'll get it.

Adam: He needs to show a little more confidence with his learning lately. I know he knows his stuff so I'm not too sure about this change.

Patrick: He's picking up reading quite well and I have full confidence that he will succeed in the coming months as we do more.

Hank: He has had no problems with picking up on the reading and I have full confidence he will be reading whole books very soon.

Rain: He's been a little too outspoken recently and it is my hope that he can show a little more self control in the coming weeks. Great job with reading though.

Terry: Terry needs to show more confidence with his in class performance. He seems to be afraid to make a mistake and it hope he can get over this.

Paige: She's doing a good job with reading. I can tell that she's slowly starting to understand the concepts and it will be no time at all before she's reading whole books.

Emily: She really is doing a great job with reading and I can see that she fully understands how to combine the sounds of the letters together.

Joyce: Now I have seen her talking to her little sister this week and she really had no problems with that so I know she's more than able to it class as well.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and I'll see all of you bright and early Monday morning.

Dear Parents,

This week is Valentine's Day week and we spent some time making cards and chocolate to give out. They were able to eat their chocolate after their lunch if the finished quickly and boy I tell you, I've never seen eight kids finish food so quickly! Maybe we should start doing that everyday! We have started reading and we are focusing on sight words right now. Some examples are words like see, I, bike. I will be doing a lot of phonetic blends with them next week for they need to have a good foundation with that before they can start to read the more difficult words that they will encounter as they get older. We also covered Phonics, Math, and Social Studies.

Like I said before, next week will be reading and phonics as our main priorities. I will be focusing on the Math concepts a little more in-depth so that they have a better understanding as they move up. They are all doing very well in Social Studies and it's a refreshing break from some of the other lessons we have in the week. It gives them a chance to speak out and communicate with the other students in the class about more important things that who took who's toy or who isn't sharing.

Individual Comments:

Hank: It's good to have him back in class and feeling better. We missed you last week.

Rain: He's been talking way too much in class and he will listen only for a moment after I tell him to stop and he'll be right back at it again.

Adam: I can see that he's focusing very well during reading class, it really seems that he wants to do the best that he can in this area!!!

Ethan: He's been very slow lately in completing the work. He's getting it done and trying to do it well he's just getting distracted by Rain.

Terry: Very good work from him this week. We've started hitting the reading books and he's focused and ready to go!

Patrick: I am happy to report only good things this week especially in reading class. He's the first to volunteer and I can see that he really is trying his best!

Paige: Good job all around from her this week. I appreciate how consistent she was!

Emily: I hope she's feeling better soon. As far as in class goes I was happy that she was very ready and prepared to learn. I appreciate how well she does daily.

Joyce: She is really speaking out a lot more and is getting quite proactive about it with me. Let's see if she'll start to do that with her classmates now.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend... it should be a beautiful one so get out there and do something fantastic!

Dear Parents,

Well it's back to school for everyone and although some of you are still enjoying your holiday we are back in class and having a great time. We hope to see the rest of you soon! We have been taking it kind of slow this week to just get back into the swing of things. We covered a few pages in Phonics, Math and Social Studies, we also did a couple of art projects as well and they really seemed to enjoy getting their hands dirty and messy.

We are planning to get back into the swing of things next week when everyone is back and we will be covering all materials. We are going to be starting to learn to read next week and it is my hope that everyone can bring their "A" game and really focus on the lesson at hand. It takes a lot of hard work and patience from both teacher and student for success in reading to occur so we need to make sure we are trying our best! I have confidence that they will do well, they are all super smart and catch onto things very quickly.

Individual Comments:

Adam: He was in great spirits and was ready to learn. Great job this week.

Ethan: Other than him checking out the girls this week he did a fabulous job. He's been very focused recently.

Patrick: Other than what we talked about this week he has been great. I'm not sure what the problem was but he seems to have gotten over it.

Rain: Great job this week, really good attitude and participation! Thank you Rain.

Paige: She's really starting to understand what it takes for her to succeed and I thank her for her determination.

Emily: I could see that she enjoyed the party this week and there was definitely a light in her eye afterward! Her in class performance has been great this week, she's very self motivated so thank you!

Joyce: She's really come around since coming off of the break. She's speaking out a lot more and she's much quicker with doing the things she needs to do! Great job and keep it up.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend... if it clears up... and gets out there and does some really fun and interesting things. I myself will be taking it easy with the family. I look forward to seeing all of you bright and early Monday morning.
